Becoming a member of Minnesota Association of Dance Teams connects you to a statewide community of coaches who are committed to supporting, advocating for, and elevating high school dance team in Minnesota. Membership provides a collective voice in key decisions impacting our activity, access to shared knowledge and resources, and opportunities to collaborate with coaches across all classes and regions. Most importantly, MADT membership helps strengthen the future of Minnesota high school dance team, ensuring fairness, growth, and meaningful experiences for both coaches and student-athletes.

WHY BECOME A MEMBER?

Being a member of MADT provides numerous ways for coaches and programs to be actively involved. One of the most important responsibilities of membership is attending our two annual general membership meetings held each fall and spring. Your school should always have a representative present to ensure your program has a voice and a vote on proposals, while also staying current on rules, processes, and procedures impacting the activity.

WHO CAN BE A MEMBER OF MADT?

MADT Membership is open to current or former competitive coaches in Minnesota. Current MSHSL Registered Officials are not eligible for membership. Upon acceptance of the By-laws and payment of required dues, applicants will be voting members of MADT and may benefit from all MADT Services and activities.

MINNESOTA STATE HIGH SCHOOL COACHES ASSOCIATION (MSHSCA) MEMBERSHIP

MSHSCA Membership is automatically part of the MADT Membership, This means, the dues paid for MADT Membership also cover MSHSCA and no further dues are required. There are many benefits of this membership outlined within the MSHSCA website (https://www.mshsca.org/page/show/2433702-member-benefits) but one of the most notable benefits is the $2,000,000 liability insurance while coaching and in the classroom. While some schools provide liability during the school year, this insurance covers coaches during the summer months.

Membership for both MADT and MSHSCA becomes effective when your membership form and fee are received, and runs through July 31st of the following year. Membership opens on August 1st each year. Coaches must be enrolled by December 31st in order to be eligible for team awards, coaching awards, annual All-State event and student scholarships.

TYPES OF MEMBERSHIP

General Membership: A general membership rate is available which provides voting rights in both fall & spring membership meetings, participation for MADT All-State submissions and participation for spring awards.
All-Inclusive Membership: Includes fall & spring professional development Coaches Continuing Education (CCE), spring awards celebration and attendance at the MADT All-State event.)

REGISTRATION WITH MSHSCA

To become a member, register through the Minnesota State High School Coaches Association and pay the membership fee. All member rates are posted each year via the MADT website. Head to the MSHSCA website to register (your registration includes membership to MADT and MSHSCA.

All-Inclusive: $165

FORMER COACH?

Former or retired coaches can submit payment directly to MADT for only the MADT portion of membership fees for the year. Please email our Membership Director for payment information & where to mail payment.
